God Is Returning What You Thought Was Lost

That thing you lost—the savings, the relationship, the future you planned for—it may not be gone.

""I will restore what was lost, bringing back what was taken, and filling the years the locusts have consumed.""

Joel 2:25

That thing you lost. The savings you watched drain to zero. The friendship that quietly dissolved. The health you took for granted. The future you had mapped out that suddenly vanished.

What if it isn't gone?

The prophet Joel carried a word from God that has echoed across centuries for everyone who has ever stood in the ruins of a broken plan: "I will restore what was lost." That word is not a request or a wish. It is a declaration. God speaking into existence what the enemy meant for destruction.

This restoration is not a simple return to before. It never has been. When God restores what was taken, He returns it with overflow. The years the locusts consumed become years of abundance. What comes back is shaped by grace, not just recycled by memory.

There is a story in Scripture I share in today's video — about a patriarch who waited decades for the promise God made to him. When the impossible finally arrived, it arrived not as he had expected. I can't fit that whole story here, but it changed how I understood restoration entirely.

If something in you stirred just now, I invite you to sit with the video for a few minutes. Maybe today is the day the turning begins.

Scripture Reference: Joel 2:25 (ESV) "I will restore what was lost, bringing back what was taken, and filling the years the locusts have consumed."

Closing Prayer: Father, we bring You the places in our lives that feel empty. The losses we have carried alone, the grief we have swallowed, the hope we have let go of. We believe Your word is true. We choose to trust that what was taken is not beyond Your power to restore. Fill those empty years with Your goodness. Return what was lost, and return it wrapped in grace. We hold loosely what remains and make room for what You are about to give back. We release control and rest in Your faithful promises. In Jesus' name, Amen.
