God's Message: Don't Miss What I'm Building From Your Pain
You feel like ruins. God sees something else — and He's already building.
"See, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the wasteland."
— Isaiah 43:19
There's a moment — maybe you've lived it — when you look at what's left of your life and it feels like standing in a collapsed building. Dust settling. Silence where something used to be. You're not sure what to do with your hands anymore.
That silence is the space where a lot of us get stuck. Not because we don't believe God exists, but because we can't reconcile what we see with who He says He is. The ruins in front of us feel louder than any promise He could make.
But here's what I want you to hear today: God is not surprised by your ruins. He hasn't turned away, and He hasn't forgotten. What broke in your hands did not escape His notice. He's not standing at a distance, wringing His hands, wondering what to do. He's already moving toward you with a plan that goes beyond putting pieces back together.
The prophet Isaiah captures this perfectly: "See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."
Not a repair job. A new thing. What God wants to build from your pain isn't a return to what was — it's something you haven't even imagined yet. The wasteland you're standing in right now? It's not the end of your story. It's the raw material.
There's a story I share in today's video that I couldn't fit here — about someone who thought their devastation had disqualified them from every good thing. If any of this stirred something in you, I think you'll recognize yourself in it. Take five minutes and sit with it.
You're not ruined beyond repair. You are being rebuilt — and the foundation He's laying is stronger than anything you lost.
A prayer
Father, we come to You in our brokenness, knowing that You are the God who redeems. We confess the temptation to see only ruins, but we ask for eyes of faith to perceive what You are doing in our lives. Transform our pain into purpose, our wounds into wisdom, and our losses into opportunities for Your glory. Help us trust Your promise of renewal, even when we cannot see the path ahead. We surrender our ruins to Your loving hands, believing that You are making all things new. In Jesus' name, Amen.
