They Didn't See What God Was Building in You
Your hidden season has a purpose no one else can see right now.
""For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.""
— Jeremiah 29:11
There's a particular kind of silence that feels like erasure. You show up, you do the work, you keep your mouth shut when you want to scream — and still, no one notices. The promotion goes to someone else. The door you hoped for stays shut. And you start to wonder if you've misread your whole life.
But what if that silence wasn't emptiness? What if what felt like invisibility was actually positioning?
In the passage I explore in today's video, God speaks to His people who had every reason to feel forgotten. They had been exiled, dismissed, labeled as finished. And yet God calls them His children — not as wishful thinking, but as fact. He sees what others don't. He counts every tear you've wiped away before anyone else could. He tracks every quiet morning you chose obedience when no one was watching, when nothing was changing.
The people around you may not have seen the architecture of your life. They see the messy lot, the scaffolding, the delays. But God sees the house. And He is building something you couldn't engineer on your own.
There's a difference between being buried and being planted. Buried things are done for. Planted things are just beginning a story the soil once kept secret. The same ground that looked like your grave was actually your greenhouse.
If you've been tempted to believe your season defines your worth, this is where the lie loses its grip. God does not measure you by recognition. He measures you by faithfulness — and He's still watching how you carry what no one else can see.
There's an illustration I share in today's video — something about seeds and seasons — that I couldn't fit into this post. If something in these words stirred a quiet ache, sit with the video for a few minutes. You might find you're further along than you thought.
The hidden season is almost over. God sees it. And soon, so will everyone else.
A prayer
Father, I confess there have been days I felt invisible. Days I questioned whether You were watching. Today I bring that doubt to You. You see the hidden work You are doing in my life, even when I cannot see it. Give me patience to trust Your timeline and courage to keep walking when nothing around me confirms that I'm on the right path. Help me rest in Your gaze, not in the silence of others. You are the Builder, and I am Yours. In Jesus' name, Amen.
