God's Warning: The Person He Wants You to Recognize Today
There's a reason God is prompting you right now — and ignoring that nudge could cost you more than you realize
""I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.""
— John 16:12
There's a moment in Scripture where the Holy Spirit says plainly: "I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now." (John 16:12) Sometimes God whispers a warning before He gives you the full understanding. You feel it before you can explain it. A check in your spirit. A door that doesn't feel open. A relationship that seems healthy on the surface but leaves you uneasy in your gut.
That discomfort you keep dismissing? It might be the still, small voice you've been praying for.
In today's video, I'm sharing something the Lord has placed on my heart regarding discernment — specifically, the people God wants us to recognize before they get closer. This isn't about paranoia or suspicion. Scripture is clear: "Be sober-minded, be alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour." (1 Peter 5:8) The enemy doesn't attack randomly. He uses people — often people who look safe, who come with kind words and good intentions on the surface — to get access to what God is protecting.
But here's where I want you to breathe: recognition isn't the same as retaliation. God shows you so you can walk in wisdom, not so you can war in the flesh. "The prudent man sees evil and hides himself, but the naive pass on and are punished for it." (Proverbs 27:12) Discernment is a gift. It positions you to obey, to step back, to set boundaries, or to pray — whatever the Spirit is leading.
I'm thinking about the woman in the Gospel who had been bleeding for twelve years. She spent everything on physicians. She was exhausted, depleted, overlooked. And then she heard about Jesus. She didn't push through the crowd with strategy — she pushed through with desperate faith. Jesus stopped. He acknowledged her. He called her "daughter." And He said her faith had made her well. (Mark 5:25-34)
There are things breaking loose in your life right now that have nothing to do with your effort. The breakthrough isn't earned — it's received. And the enemy knows that. That's why the attack on your mind, your sleep, your home environment — all of it is aimed at making you so weary you miss the door when it opens.
There's a particular illustration in today's video — one I couldn't fit here — about what happens when God shows you something about someone and you're not sure if you're being paranoid or prophetic. If that tension is real for you right now, please watch. I believe it will minister to you.
And if this devotional stirred something but the timing isn't right, save it. Come back when you need it. God doesn't just speak once.
Grace and peace to you today.
In Christ's love,
A prayer
Father, I come before You with an open heart, asking for the gift of discernment. You know the people I have encountered — some You have placed in my life with purpose, and some who may be a distraction from Your best. Give me the wisdom to know the difference. When I feel uneasy about someone, help me not to dismiss that conviction as fear but to examine it through the lens of Your Word. Guard my heart from suspicion without wisdom and openness without boundaries. I trust that You are my protector and my guide. Keep me sensitive to Your Spirit and quick to obey. In Jesus' name, Amen.
